PARLIAMENT MEETING SETS FOR 1ST NOVEMBER

THURSDAY 20 OCTOBER 2016

The 5th meeting of the 10th Parliament and the last for 2016 is set to convene on Tuesday the 1st of November 2016.

Clerk to National Parliament, Clezy Rore after receiving confirmation from the Prime Minister’s Office has notified Members of Parliament on Friday 14th October in accordance with Standing Orders for the thirteen clear days’ notice.

According to the Procedure Department of the National Parliament, the Hon. Speaker Ajilon Nasiu had endorsed three Bills and they are now put on notice.

The three Bills are:

  1. The Town and Country Planning (Amendment) Bill 2016
  2. The Land Surveyors Bill 2016 and the
  3. Adoption (Amendment) Bill 2016

Parliament expects more Bills to come in the next coming days, and the Bills and Legislation Committee too is expected to hold inquiries into the three Bills soon.

Furthermore, Parliament is also expecting the arrival of the 2017 Appropriation Bill 2016 to be put on notice, since this is the last meeting for 2016.
