BILLS AND LEGISLATIVE COMMITTEE TO CONDUCT THEIR FIRST HEARING

MONDAY 4TH APRIL 2016

The Parliamentary Bills and Legislative Committee (BLC) met on Monday 4th April in their deliberative meeting and resolved to conduct their first hearing on Wednesday 6th April for the upcoming parliament meeting.
In its hearing, the Committee will firstly inquire into the two amendment Bills; the Penal Code (Amendment) (Sexual Offences) Bill 2016 and the Police and Transport Legislation (Amendment) (Alcohol Testing) Bill 2016.
The hearings for the other two amendment Bills ; the Valuers (Amendment) Bill 2016 and Lands and Titles (Amendment) Bill 2016 along with the two newly introduced Bills; the Anti-Corruption Bill 2016 and the Whistleblowers Protection Bill 2016 will be conducted next week.
The National Parliament Office has so far received six Bills and approved by the Speaker to be tabled in Parliament.
They are;
• Penal Code (Amendment) (Sexual Offences) Bill 2016
• Police and Transport Legislation (Amendment) (Alcohol Testing) Bill 2016
• Anti-Corruption Bill 2016
• Whistleblowers Protection Bill 2016
• Valuers (Amendment) Bill 2016
• Lands and Titles (Amendment) Bill 2016
